We stayed at Treasure Island. It has one big spectacle
in front, as well as the Cirque du Soleil show and a casino with
blackjack tables with good rules (you know, not-so-unfavorable
odds - it's where we did all our gambling).

Ahoy, matey, is that a ship sailing into port?

Aye, aye! It comes in every 90 minutes.

Every time, it's attacked by pirates...

Every time, it goes down in flames.

Drat! Sunk again!
Treasure Island is permanent host to the Cirque du Soliel "Mystere" show. They have a custom-built moving stage with platforms that raise and lower the players as they bounce, fly, contort, climb, and clown. Shortly after I took this picture of everybody sitting down to watch Mystere, I was told "pictures are not allowed". (There was a paid photographer making the rounds.)

Flash photography is also dangerous for the acrobats (although one would not want to use a flash anyway if one were to hypothetically take a photo). So the rule is: no pictures before, during, or after the show, period. That's okay, because if one were to take a picture of the show (again, not that anybody would considering doing such a thing) it would look all dark and fuzzy, something like this:

It's hard to photograph acrobats in rubber suits slithering down walls and swooping down on bungee cords when it's dark.
