Margaret & Anthony Arrive BostonFive minutes before Paul and Rachel were to head for Logan to meet the USAir flight from Philadelphia, the phone rang, and it was Rachel's niece and nephew from Rochester... come for a surprise visit and they were at Natick Plaza on the Mass Pike... about 10 minutes away from our house and asking for directions! Should we leave Rachel at home to meet them and send Paul to the airport alone? No way was Rachel going to miss greeting her only grandson. So we give them detailed instructions on how to get to our house, turned on the driveway lights and left the front door unlocked. "Make yourself at home and we'll be back about 10 pm" , said Rachel just befoe she jumped into the car.At Logan, Paul and Rachel made their way thru security and to the number 9 arrival gate. The USAir flight was about 10 minutes ahead of schedule and the grandparents waited patiently as the passengers deplaned. After the entire plane was unloaded, down the boarding ramp came Anthony and Margaret. As soon as Anthony spotted his grandfather, he broke into the biggest smile and started to run down the ramp laughing. He jumped into Grandpa Paul's arms and gave him a big kiss. Hmmmm... xoxoxo Telecommunications RevolutionYes, Anthony has joined the telecommunications revolution. In past weeks, he normally listens to a telephone call for him, pushes the phone away or plays with the buttons. This week, while visiting his grandparents in Boston, Anthony listened and listened and listened to his mother's call from Philadelphia. Then he said,"Da-Da".Grandpa took the phone and asked,"Is David on the line?". "Yup",was the answer. Anthony was given back the phone and before long he said,"Mama". He definately knew who was on the other end of the phone! Then Anthony got bored and started pushing the button as usual. Click! No more Philadelphia! MetroWest Good News!O.K., for resident of MetroWest... we have some good news. The Weston Food Critic has found a restaurant that has the combination of traits that make this a highly recommended restaurant. Those trait are low price and great food. It's easy to pay high prices and get great food... but low prices and great food is a bit tricky. The JTK Grille and Sushi at 617 Main Street in Waltham, Ma (telephone 781-894-2129) is the place to eat. Five of us went there for lunch and all were very satisfied and the price tag was $8/person which included tax and tip. The Weston Food Critic's lunch was Beef Job Chai( a classical Korean noodle dish) for $5.95. It was superbly prepared. The Critics wife had Vegetable Pat Thai ( a classical Siamese noodle dish) and it too was very tastey. Another party member had the Vegetable Lover's Box ( made up of three rolls, cucumber, avocado, and spinach) and she too was very satisfied and full... big portions! So if you are in the mood for Japanese, Thailand or Korean food, give the JTK Grille and Sushi a try. You'll be gald you did. There's a metered parking lot adjacent to the building. Olive'sOlive's is located at 10 City Square in Charlestown ( City Square is at the north end of the Charlestown Bridge, leading from Boston's Northend.Valentine's Day was a fine date to try out an upscale and talked about restuarant, so Paul and Rachel joined with 4 other couples to eat our at Olive's. The food was Continental, and it was very hard to get in. With parties less that 8, no reservation accepted; more than 8, one must often book one's reservation more than a month in advance! Appetizers run the cost of $15-$25. Entrees cost between $22 to $40 and deserts run about $10 each. Wine can be anywhere depending on how rich you feel your pocketbook is. Music was loud in the early part of the evening, softened down later on. Rachel's main course was the skate wings(a fish related to the stingray). This was the first time she ate skate and she liked it. However, her favorite entree of the evening was the Chilean Sea Bass. Paul had the filet mignon which was a good piece of meat but the Weston food critic was not overly impressed with the sauce. The best part of the meal was the desert... Paul and Rachel split a "Mango Tart" which was wonderful. A good cup of coffee and the tart finished off an excellent meal. Total cost of the meal with tax and tip came to $68.00 per person.
